The single OS upgrade policy is still applicable for Redmi Note 6 Pro and Redmi 6. According to the policy, both the phones already got upgraded from Android 8 Oreo out of the box to Android 9 Pie. In a recent post in Mi forum, a moderator clearly says that the Redmi Note 6 Pro might not get an Android 10 update. Moreover, it’s not a different case for Redmi 6. The same moderator said in another post that the Redmi 6 is deprived of the Android 10 update. To install, follow any of the two guides below, although the simplest one is Method 1 below, that uses the local updater option within the Settings app. Super easy. Method 1: Using Local updater Download the recovery update file from the table above. Transfer the update file to your Redmi Note 6 Pro if you downloaded it on PC. Open the Settings app, and tap on About phone. Tap on System update. Tap on the 3-dot menu button in the top right. Tap on Choose update package.
